Line Tremblay, multi media artist and curator maintains a studio in Georgina, Keswick, Ontario. After resining from the Georgina Arts Centre & Gallery she now can concentrate on her personal work in the field of art.
Before ever daring to think of committing paint to canvas Line was fascinated with the world of history, art and the expression of such.
After dabbling in oils as a hobby Line pursued formal training at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) and continues to attended seminars and workshops in the pursuit of her investigation.
The early 90’s found her trying her hand at pottery to discover she was able to express herself as a sculptor.
Tremblay’s influences are numerous and her work is in constant evolution. Her paintings and sculptures may be found in several private collections in North and Central America as well as Europe.
" My goal as an artist is to create without stating too much, to offer the observer a glimpse of the invisible that contains the spirit of nature and of people. Whether trying to sooth the soul, or being playful by expressing a thoght, a feeling, an opinion, or simply experimenting and exploring, visual fiction is being weaved. The spectator therefore has the freedom to imagine a new yarn.
Mainly I work with oils, acrylic, clay or stone, all mediums are acceptable when searching for the substance during the creative process. I enter another reality, the space situated between the abstract and the representational when conceiving.
An exchange happens through design, lines, space, form, colour, texture, movement and the unconscious.
Often chaos is created which is a necessary step towards “expression”. After essential periods of reflection and adjustments, balance and harmony are found.
These elements must be respected, as in nature and in every human. Each creation has its own individuality, its own story."
